about lori...

Born and raised in Southern California, Lori currently lives in Lake Oswego, Oregon.  She comes from a family of artists.  Her mother, sister, daughter, and many nieces all have a love of art, painting, and creating.

She worked as a conventional photo retoucher for the entertainment industry using dyes, airbrush, and etching on photographs, and later was a product illustrator for a national toy catalog.  After being laid off, she realized the market for a conventional artist in the computer age was almost non-existant, yet that was what she was.  She picked up a paint brush and started painting what she loved.  She was always drawn to portraits and so started there.  She loved animals and when she painted a picture of her dog, Buddy, and got a great response, she thought that maybe that would be the next natural step she should take. She paints her pet portraiture with the same passion and detail she did with her tradional portraits.  Mixed-media can be added on request.

Along with painting what she loves, she represents Grumbacher and teaches painting classes at a major art store and retirement centers, as well as chalk art for a national vegan cafe and various restaurants.
